New artwork for the master bedroom

Please feel free to share or pin our projects (share buttons under each post). We would really appreciate it! Thanks for stopping by!

Hey there!

As I told you in the post about hiding cords in the master bedroom we had just gotten a large box delivered from Ballard Designs with some new wall art. I can't tell you how excited I was to find this piece. I had been searching for something to hang above our bed for quite a while. The picture we had up there was one we had gotten while living in Germany. Change was way over due.

I had wanted a pretty, old window to hang above the bed but couldn't find one that was just right. They were either too long, not long enough or too tall. I wasn't being picky about finish or anything because that is something I could have changed if it had been painted some horrible color but we never found one close to what we were looking for.

Ed and I had been out antiquing one Sunday afternoon and I was feeling defeated by the lack of windows so I decided to do some online shopping to make myself feel better on the way home. It had been a while since I had checked out Ballard Designs so I thought I would see what they had to offer. And there it was. The answer to my art above the bed dilemma!

Isn't it awesome? And I got it for a steal!

The picture that graced the wall above our bed for so many years got a new home. I am just not ready to part with it, if I ever do.

Now I need to decided what color to paint the white frames on the walls. I know I don't want them white but do I want them brown/black or gray?  The dresser top also needs some sort of restyling and I think we need to address cord management on Ed's bedside dresser but that's for another day and another post!

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. That's a great piece to go above the bed. Looks like you're off to a nice bedroom makeover. I wouldn't paint the frames until you restyle your dresser.
