It's beginning to look a lot like...

...We're moving! ๐Ÿ  ----> ๐Ÿก

Yes, it's also Christmas time but why not move too? Seriously, we couldn't have made this any more challenging if we tried. Buying/selling a house during the Holidays, during a pandemic, in winter WITH TWO NEW PUPPIES. Yep, we like things to be extra challenging. If only it snows for our actual move... ๐Ÿ˜ต

This move is not job related, not really-it's more Covid related. Due to Covid my husband has been working from home full time and it looks like it will pretty much be a permanent thing so we decided to get away from the city. We are not city/suburb people. The town we are moving to has about the same number of people as where we currently live but we won't be in a suburb next to a city with almost 2 million people and a bunch of other suburbs with lots more people! That's a lot of people.

The new house is older, bigger and has a bigger lot that the current house. It also has a few extra perks like a basement, a pool and a shop we can work in instead of using the garage. Plus it's about 90 miles south so that helps with temps. It may only be a few degrees warmer but that few degrees can be the difference between a frost and a freeze!

We had casually been looking at houses online for a while and had even driven out to look at different areas that might be of interest. We went to see a different house that wasn't as far from the city right before Thanksgiving but found out that it already had a contract on it so we went back to our search and decided to go check this one out even though it was a bit further than we had originally wanted.

So, we made an offer on the house, it was accepted and we put ours on the market. Our house sold in less than 48 hours. I hope the buyers/new owners really enjoy all the work we have put into this house. I will truly miss the kitchen, It was my first IKEA kitchen and I really enjoyed doing it. Of course I already have plans to do another IKEA kitchen in the next house.

The new house is by no means perfect but what fun would that be? Of course there were trade offs, we won't have 9 ft ceilings anymore but we will have a shop, basement and pool so it works out. I mean, 9 ft ceilings are great but do have drawbacks like having to pay more for curtains. LOL

We don't close until the middle of January so I won't be able to share photos until after that but here are some pics of our Christmas dรฉcor from this year. I started decorating the first week of November, before we found the house and decided it was time to move. Enjoy!
